Faith takes root in a heart that is prepared by God in the same way that plants, flowers, fruit trees, etc. take root in a landscape that is crafted by a gardener. The landscape is always a contested landscape. God rightfully claims ownership of the landscape, but evil always tries to coopt the garden for its own purposes.
