The Lord says to Paul, as he is in prison, "You have testified to the facts about Me in Jerusalem.” We should always be extremely careful not to look for too much joy in our own accomplishments, for all our works and efforts are imperfect. And yet the Lord sometimes gives His servants assurances. Before the Great Day of the Lord, the day of reward, the Lord sometimes will whisper into our ear, “Well done, good and faithful servant.” Here is great cheer: if the Lord accepts what you have done for Him, it is a small thing if all of this world condemns you. It is the Lord who accepts you. So, the Lord says to Paul, “You have testified of me in Jerusalem. You must also testify in Rome.”
