Paul, having been in prison for two years under the governor Felix, now finds himself standing trial again before Festus. Always striving against competing political interests, Paul makes a startling appeal to stand before Emperor Nero. To escape the murderous intentions of the Jews only to land in the hands of Nero is like escaping from a charging bear into the safe jaws of a hungry lion.
