At First Baptist Church, we desire our leaders to be people of character and integrity according to the Word of God.
We lead as servants, not masters
“The Son of Man came not to be served but to serve” — Mark 10:45
We humble ourselves, putting others before ourselves (Philippians 2:3–4).
We shepherd willingly and by example
“Shepherd the flock of God… being examples to the flock” — 1 Peter 5:2–3
Guarding the flock entrusted to us by the Holy Spirit (Acts 20:28).
We lead with integrity, love, and purity
Holding to godly character (Titus 1:7–8) and setting an example in speech, conduct, faith, and purity (1 Timothy 4:12).
We lead in accountability to Christ
Knowing we will give account to the Chief Shepherd (Hebrews 13:17).
We fix our eyes on Jesus
Our model and strength (Hebrews 12:2), for in His kingdom, greatness is found in servanthood (Matthew 20:26).
