John 5:1-24
That All May Honor the Father

This Father's Day, we explore John 5:1-24 and hear once again God's calling to be like our Heavenly Father. Just as Jesus healed the man at the pool of Bethesda, we're called to show compassion, take action when others are enslaved, and speak the good news of life and salvation into hopeless situations. We are called by God to this earthly fatherhood that everyone may honor the Heavenly Father.

The paralyzed man had been waiting 38 years, but Jesus didn't just offer sympathy. He offered transformation. As fathers, we have been given the power to be ministers of healing in our families, to see the possibility of God's deliverance where others see only problems, and to call forth the best from our children.

Jesus said, "My Father is always at his work to this very day, and I too am working." May we follow that example - always working, always loving, always pointing our families toward hope and wholeness.
