Romans 1:18-34

Identifying as LGBTQ became synonymous with the expression made famous during the 90s, “Coming out of the closet.” This expression, historically, has two connotations: one of celebration and the other of secrecy. For most, it was easier to keep homosexual desires concealed. There was a sense of shame attached to LGBTQ sexuality. While there are obviously a number of cultural pressures that contribute to this feeling of shame, it is important to ask: where does this sense of shame ultimately come from? When we look to God for this answer, Scripture tells us that it comes from the dishonouring of our bodies. In what way do these desires dishonour our bodies? Isn't it true that some individuals are born genetically with an LGBTQ orientation? How can something that an individual is born with be considered dishonourable? Join us today as we look at what God says in Romans 1:18-32.
