Whenever a Christian disobeys the government their conscience is pained. It is this pain of conscience that often leads Christians to compromise in their faith in order to get along with the government. But one of the things we learn from Romans 13:1-7 is that the conscience must be submitted to the Lord's moral law and that government is also accountable to God's moral law.
