Ambition has not always been viewed favorably within the church. For church leaders from Augustine to Jonathan Edwards, ambition was synonymous with the love of earthly honor, vainglory, fame-hunting— all pretty slimy stuff. But ambition is a part of who we are. Every one of us has an ambition, a goal, a drive in life. What's yours? Is it a righteous ambition? Is it a holy ambition?
